How to Make a Custom Bead Color Palette
Updated June 2026 · ~3 min read
Tired of patterns that call for beads you don’t have? With My Colors you build a personal palette of the exact beads you own — once — and reuse it in every design. This guide shows how to add colors, bulk-paste a code list, rename and renumber them, sync across devices, and convert photos using only your colors. It’s free.
Step-by-Step
Open the My Colors panel
My Colors lives in the right-hand panel of both the designer and the image converter. You’ll see it above the full bead palette, with an “Add current color” (+) button and an Edit button.
Pick or enter any color
Select a color from any brand palette (Perler, Hama, Artkal, MARD…), or use Custom Color to choose any shade or type an exact HEX code. This is how you match a bead brand we don’t list yet — just enter its HEX value.
Save it to My Colors — or paste a whole list
With a color selected, tap + to add it to My Colors. To set up fast, paste a whole list of codes at once (for example 310, 666, Blanc) and they’re all added together — perfect for entering your entire bead stash in one go.
Rename and renumber each color
Tap Edit and give every color your own name and number — for example the exact code printed on your bead bags. Then your exported color list matches your real drawers, so shopping and sorting are effortless.
Sign in to sync everywhere
Your colors are saved and follow you into every design automatically. Sign in with a free account and they sync across your phone, tablet, and computer — and they’re backed up instead of living in just one browser.
Convert photos using only your colors
On the image converter, choose “All my colors” and the pattern is built only from the beads in your palette — so you never end up with a design that needs a shade you don’t own.

- ✓ Sign in so your palette is backed up and synced — not just stored in one browser.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I find My Colors?
In the right-hand panel of both the designer and the image converter, just above the full bead palette. Look for the “Add current color” (+) and Edit buttons.
Can I add any color, even from a brand you don’t list?
Yes. Use Custom Color to enter any exact HEX value. That’s how you match beads from a brand we don’t carry yet — then rename and renumber it to match the brand’s own code.
How do I add many colors at once?
Paste a whole list of codes (for example 310, 666, Blanc), separated by commas or new lines, and they’re all added to My Colors together.
Do my colors sync across devices?
Yes, when you sign in with a free account. Your palette is then backed up and available on your phone, tablet, and computer instead of living in one browser.
Can I rename and renumber colors?
Yes. Tap Edit and give each color your own name and number — for example the exact code on your bead bags — so the exported color list matches your real beads.
How do I make a photo use only my colors?
On the image converter, choose “All my colors.” The pattern is then built only from the beads saved in your palette.
